The Amazing World of Gumball features a small-part character named Laurence “Larry” Needlemeyer. Larry Needlemeyer
works as a cashier in practically every shop in Elmore. Larry is not gullible, and he usually doesn’t get along with those who use the last name “The Watterson.” In spite of “working exceedingly hard” to keep all of his employment, Larry has been dismissed at least once.
Typically, Larry would be seen sporting an orange hat, a red badge with a white and red striped diagonal along the middle, a green shirt, an orange tie, and a badge. He is dressed in black sneakers and jeans. He has freckles on his lovely cheekbones. However, as the show progresses, he starts to dress differently in line with the professions he does. Like Rob and Miss Simian, he appears to be quite skinny. He has a blocky, unusually huge head. Like Richard, he changes from Lazy Larry into a huge block that joins his head to his torso. He had a rougher texture in season 1. After season 2, the textures disappeared, and he now appears to be entirely made of paper.
Larry is a very serious and committed person who is not easily fooled. From cashier to store clerk, he holds several occupations in the Elmore region and is excellent at each one. But on several of these occasions, he either shoots himself accidentally or is convinced to do so by a Watterson family member. His friend Karen has attempted to do so twice, but she has been unsuccessful each time.
