Arizona Rummy

Arizona Rummy is a version of the Rummy game that allows 2 or more players with a standard deck of 52 cards. This game is usually played in 10 or 11 rounds. No jokers are involved in Arizona Rummy, but players choose at least 2 wildcards. In this game, each player is given 3 cards and they focus on forming sequences and sets. At the end of the game, the player with the highest points and least number of cards becomes the winner. Based on the cards, the points are decided. For ace and face cards the points are 15. The wildcards carry 20 points and the numbered cards have the same point value as that of the face cards.

5000 Rummy

Another variant of Rummy is this one in which the dealer gives one card to the gamer facing upward for everyone to see. The number of this card determines how many more cards must be dealt with by the same player. The other cards are dealt face down and the game starts. Like other forms of Rummy, in 5000 Rummy also players need to meld cards to form a set or run. The game stops when a player is left with no cards or only one card from the stockpile. This is called floating or going out. The aim of this game is to reach 5000 points. The points depend on the value of each card. Ace cards carry 100 points or 200 points (if they are wild cards), face cards carry 10 points and numbered cards have 5 points.

5 Card Rummy

In this game also a dealer is randomly chosen and the game starts with the player on the left side of the dealer. Further, 5 Card Rummy continues in a clockwise manner. In this game, you have to draw a card from the stockpile and discard a card to the discard pile. Until one player declares a hand, the game resumes. Played with a standard deck of 52 cards, in 5 Card Rummy, each player is dealt 5 cards. After that, he/she must form a sequence of 3,4 or full runs or sets. In this game, the hands include straight flush, royal flush, full set, full house, flush, sequence of four, straight, sequence of 3,2 pairs, pair and 3 of a kind.

Polish Rummy

In this version of Rummy, players should form sets or runs containing at least 3 cards. The person with the highest points emerges as the winner. The ace cards carry 15 points, the face cards carry 10 points and the other cards have the points like their face values.

Knock Rummy

A unique variant of Rummy where a player can call the game off by knocking. After knocking, the player must discard a card and lay it on the table. The player benefits if he/she has no unmatched cards as they get 20 points as a bonus. However, if the player has unmatched cards and the score is less or equal to that of the opponent’s then the difference of scores is transferred to the opponent.

Farmer’s Rummy

This version is very similar to the traditional game of Rummy. Each player is dealt 11 cards at one time. The game continues for 7 rounds. After the end of the 7th round, the player with the lowest points is declared the winner.

Animal Rummy

This Rummy game is played with animal cards instead of standard cards. The aim of this game is to create 2,3 or 4 sets of matching animal cards.

Egyptian Rummy

When the game begins, a player can slap the deck of cards when the slap rule is allowed. Four in a row, marriage, doubles and so on are the slap rules. The player who has all the cards at the end of the game emerges as a winner.

Indian Rummy

An extremely well-known variant of Rummy is the Indian Rummy. This game is played with 13 cards.

Dummy Rummy

Following the same rules of the traditional Rummy game, Dummy Rummy is played by 2-4 players. The game uses 2 standard decks of cards including the Jokers. In this game, each player is dealt 13 cards. The player who finishes all the cards as quickly as possible becomes the winner.
